Types of Hackers.

Posted by: Jeet Patel

Here’s a great article for the computer lovers as well as the hacking lovers. This whole article will describe the types of Hackers. OK!!   So, hackers are classified in three types. They are:

1) White Hats
2) Black Hats
3) Grey Hats

White Hats:

White hats are the good guys. White hats are the hackers who hack into the systems that are secured but by taking permission by the authorized person of the company or the organization. You  all must have heard about the Penetration Test or so called Pen Test, those tests are done when the computerized ready after coding is done by the hackers just to test the systems security. Those hackers are appointed by the company itself for the Pen Test. White Hats never enter the secured systems without taking permissions from the authority. Ones the permission is granted, they will jump into it as they are the Good Hackers.

Black Hats:

Black Hats are the bad guys. They are also called the Crackers. There is a difference between Hackers and Crackers. Hacker means a person with a complete knowledge of the computers in detail (with respect to computers) but don’t have any wrong intension. Crackers or The Black Hats are one who gains unauthorized access to the systems. They break into the system and destroy it. When people hear the word HACKER, they create an image of a person in their mind and that is the Black Hats not the White Hats. They spread the malicious code into the working system and damage it or they get access to the database of the system that is not accessed by outsiders.

Grey Hats:

Gray hats are hackers who may work offensively or defensively, depending on the situation.
Igin hacking tools and technologies and are not malicious black hats. Gray hats are interested in hacker tools mostly from a curiosity
standpoint. They may want to highlight security problems in a system or educate victims
so they secure their systems properly. These hackers are doing their “victims” a favor. For
instance, if a weakness is discovered in a service offered by an investment bank, the hacker
is doing the bank a favor by giving the bank a chance to rectify the vulnerability.
From a more controversial point of view, some people consider the act of hacking itself
to be unethical, like breaking and entering. But the belief that “ethical” hacking excludes
destruction at least moderates the behavior of people who see themselves as “benign” hackers.
According to this view, it may be one of the highest forms of “hackerly” courtesy to
break into a system and then explain to the system operator exactly how it was done and
how the hole can be plugged; the hacker is acting as an unpaid—and unsolicited—tiger
team (a group that conducts security audits for hire). This approach has gotten many ethical
hackers in legal trouble. Make sure you know the law and your legal liabilities when
engaging in ethical hacking activity.
Many self-proclaimed ethical hackers are trying to break into the security field as consultants.
Most companies don’t look favorably on someone who appears on their doorstep
with confidential data and offers to “fix” the security holes “for a price.” Responses range
from “thank you for this information, we’ll fix the problem” to calling the police to arrest

What is System Development Life Cycle

Posted by: Jeet Patel

I think that you all might be thinking that this is the blog relates to technology then why am I posting the thinks outside of the box. But trust me that these blogs related to Data and Information are also very much important from the view of a programmer.
Okay so Hello guys I'm here with an another blog related to the a System Analysis and design, and the topic name is "System Development Life Cycle". Most of the people wrote the short form as SDLC.

SDLC is very much important from the sight of a programmer.
Okay so let's first classify the System Development Life Cycle :
1. Preliminary Investigation
     (A) Request Classification
     (B) Feasibility Study
           - Economic Feasibility
           - Technical Feasibility
           - OperationalFeasibility
     (C) Request Approval
2. Determination of software requirement
3. Design Software
4. Development of software
5. Software testing
6. Implementation and evaluation
     (A) Operational Evaluation
     (B) User to Manager Evaluation
     (C) Organisational Evaluation

Above are the most basic and the most important points that to be kept in mind when you are dealing with the System Development and Design.

Let's understand some Of the terms from the above terms :

Preliminary Investigation : Okay so Preliminary Investigation means that the person who initiates the point to the company or the institute is the initiator. He has some good idea with him and he wants that the company should implement that idea(software).

Determination of software requirements : This stage includes that the company sees whether the company can afford the project or not.

Software Design : In this stage the company will decide that what will be the input and what will be the output of the system. Because this is very important stage for any kind of software.

Development of the software : This is the stage where the real programming of the real coding starts. In this stage programmers do the programming for the softwares according to the users needs and requirement.

Software Testing : Before launching any kind of software it is very essential to test the project the project. In this stage the software is tested.

Implementation and Evaluation : By the time when this stage comes, software is already tested. But we also need to test the software in the users environment (Compatibility of the users system). The software is installed in the users environment am tested over there. After testing the user uses the system and gives feedback and necessary requirements.

Other points to be remembered :

Feasibility : there are three types of feasibility study you need to keep in mind.
 1. Technical Feasibility
 2. Economical Feasibility
 3. Operational Feasibility

Let's see them in brief :
Technical Feasibility : When you are planning to make a software then you have to keep in mind the present machine or the computer you have with you or you have to kept in mind that will the software wok in the needed environment or not.

Economical Feasibility : When you re making a software at that time you have to make sure that will the planned software be ready in the given budget. You also have to see that if the software is not working the current system then what will be the cost to buy a new system or machine or computer.

Operation Feasibility : You need to make sure that your employee are getting enough knowledge to work with that software. You need to give training to the employee for that particular software.
